Before we travelled to Glasgow, I’d written some addresses down of places that were recommended by others and The Butterfly and the Pig was one of them. On the day we visited though, we didn’t actively look for it, but just stumbled across it at the right time (read: when we were getting hungry). Lucky us!
The Butterfly and The Pig in Glasgow, Scotland
The Entree
By the looks of the entree (there were several), The Bufferfly and the Pig isn’t just a tea room, but a restaurant for later in the day as well. We arrived around 11 and only the front room was open at that time. As we walked in, the vintage vibes were right there waiting for us.
The Interior
This place has to be the cutest tearoom ever. All the wood creaks, the wallpaper is full of flowers, the decor all grandma-y and even a film of Marilyn Monroe plays on the wall. Loved it!
The Food
They’ve got a wide range of food, cakes, and of course teas. A good place for Afternoon Tea as well!
I went for the Tung Ting Oolong tea (because it sounded funny), a nice, light tea which looked even better in this vintage cup and saucer. I went for the warm goats cheese on walnut toast with rhubarb, plum and apple chutney (how gorgeous looks that?!)
Nick went for the salmon and cream cheese open ‘sanner’ (and I was jealous of the crisps)
The Butterfly and the Pig is actually much bigger than just the tearoom, with live events and dinner and everything, but in the morning, just this one room is opened. When we were there, the girls (one was in training) were super friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted.. and we did! Food was lovely and we had such a relaxing start of the day. If you’re close, hop in for sure!
