If you’re looking for a great day trip from Dublin, I can recommend travelling from Dublin to Wicklow Mountains in Ireland!
I hopped on the bus of Wild Wicklow Tours and this is what I experienced:
Lyrics by The Dubliners
I loved the ground she walked upon
And the air she would softly breathe
The feather touch of her gentle lips
That only a fool would leave
We started our day at Sandy Cove Beach. Apparently this is the best place for a 15 degrees (59F) morning swim. Oh, the bravery.
But we tasted forbidden wine
Though I loved the ground she walked upon
I could never have made her mine
A short stop at the Fern House in Bray brought us warm tea, tasty scones and amazing local products!
The swallows fly all along the canal
And I watch with a heavy heart
In dizzy spins they dive and wheel
Touch wings and then depart
The mist was hanging low, but the scenery was still breath taking
As the summer fades away
Though I loved the ground she walked upon
I knew that I could not stay
A local pub to warm up with a drink and hearty meal, while listening to great stories
The swallow is a summer’s child
And she flies before the cold
Though I loved the ground she walked upon
She was not mine to hold
We make our way into Glendalough, an early Medieval monastic settlement. The rain only added to the mystical feeling!
Our tour guide understood that Glendalough lake is one of the best places to taste Jameson Irish Whiskey… Good stuff!
But it was easy to pretend
Though I loved the ground she walked upon
A summer has to end
A summer has to end
Too bad we had to leave again at the end of the day!
With many thanks to our great guide Denis, for showing us his home country and entertaining us with many fun stories about his personal history and the Irish culture. It was a beautiful day!

My favourite place in the entire world. Just managed to spend 7 months exploring Ireland and the Wicklow Gap still gives me goosebumps. Great pictures by the way.
