Almost every year, I’ve been ordering brochures from tour companies, collected information on travel fairs, flicked through travel magazines en even made several website with all information I could find about this amazing country. But it never came that far; I failed my exams, re-did two classes for a year, got my degree after all and went straight through to teacher training college for the next four years.
Now I’ve also graduated from that since July 5th and am without a job until January…
So what better for me to do then to spend that waiting time with something that I’ve wanted for so long? Exactly. TAKE THAT TRIP.
Three months ‘Down Under‘. Incredibly exciting, but at the same time so much fun!
Of course I’d love to keep everyone up to date, so that’s why I’ve started this website. I will try to add as many travel stories and photos as I can.
Welcome to the rest of your life!
Planning a World Trip
On Juli 8th I went with my mother to the information day of the Dutch travelcompany Activity International. In the Stayokay hostel in the Vondelpark in Amsterdam, we got to hear everything about Australia and the options for travelling here.
When we came in, we talked to an ex-participant. She’s been to Australia twice, the first time 3 months (what I’m also planning on doing) and the second time 1 year. She gave us handy tips and also made me even more enthusiastic about the trip than I already was. Even my mom was a bit more at ease after the talk, which of course isn’t at all unimportant!
After the chat, we got information about the organisation and all possible routes and finally we attended a presentation from an ex-participant who travelled through Australia for an entire year. Awesome!
All and all, we agreed pretty quickly about it: do it! do it! do it! I’ve filled in an application form right away and not much later we stood outside, all excited.
It took a little while before it fully got through me, but…
I am going to make this trip for real now!
