The Travel Tester is hitting the road again: Next Stop: Austria!

Austria has become one of my favourite countries to visit over the last few years and I have discovered so many beautiful sides of it, that I keep going back!

So it won’t be a surprise to you that my backpack is currently in the hallway, ready to leave this Thursday on yet another adventure in the Austrian landscape.

This time, I’ll be slowing life down on a creative and sensory trip and if you want to know more about it, please keep on reading!

Let’s Have some #AustrianTime

The program kicks off on 26th May in Vienna. Our group will have some activities in Vienna before splitting up in pairs to visit other regions in Austria for a few days. We will then meet again in Vienna on Sunday the 29th to catch up over dinner before heading home.

I will be exploring the National ParkNeusiedler See“, located in the East of Austria (called “Burgenland”, about 1 hour south-east of Vienna), together with the lovely Sandra, who lives in Prague. We will be staying at the futuristic-looking St. Martins Therme Spa & Lodge in Frauenkirchen, which is located in nothing less than a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

We will not only relax and -probably- taste some great Austrian wine, but we’ll also get active doing some stand-up paddle, a guided safari tour with a ranger and YES: birdwatching! Haha, love it!

Vienna 2014

Vienna Highlights

Nick and I visited Vienna for a few days in 2014, but we never really found the time to write about it, so will make up for that in the next weeks by digging up those photos and stories. We did some pretty extensive architecture walk, for example, so would love to show you!

This time, we’ll also get to be creative in exploring the city, as we’re off on a polaroid tour, which I am really excited about. We will also be staying at the funky Magdas Hotel, which I read collaborates with students of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna to decorate the hotel. Love to see their works scattered around the hotel!

I’m sure we can fit in some Kaiserschmarrn-tasting at some point!

A Video Story to Tell…

And if my stories, snapchats and photos aren’t enough, you’re going to LOVE this: we’ll be travelling with the talented Joshua, a member of the awesome Story Travelers Team, to record our experiences on video.

Remember that kick-ass video Caspar of Story Travelers made when I visited Canada in 2014? Well, then you know it’s going to be a great one again. Here you can check another video by Joshua made in Austria and featuring my friends Angelika and Keith, to get you in the mood already:

Are you ready to experience some #Austrian Time with me?

  • Looks like a great vacation opportunity. I had a friend who went to Austria recently and none of his pictures were better than these except for one with him and a kangaroo. That was really cool.

  • Stunning pictures! It seems like you had an absolute blast! You definitely found a creative way to stroll around a beautiful city! Thanks so much for sharing, this definitely makes me want to pack up and create my own little adventure!
